Precast mode divides the run by the entered unit length, adds the unit waste allowance and rounds up to a whole unit.
Bedding concrete is run × bed width × bed depth.
Haunching uses run × haunch width × haunch height × number of sides × profile factor.
Cast-in-place mode uses run × average width × average height.

How many precast curb or kerb units do I need?

Precast mode divides the total run by the unit length you enter, adds the selected cutting or breakage allowance and then rounds upward to a whole unit.

What support concrete is included for precast curb units?

The calculator can include both bedding concrete and one- or two-sided haunching. The bed dimensions, haunch dimensions and profile factor are editable project inputs rather than fixed construction standards.

Can I calculate a cast-in-place concrete curb?

Yes. Cast-in-place mode uses the total run multiplied by the equivalent average curb width and height. For a shaped profile, enter average dimensions that represent the actual cross-sectional area.

What does the haunch profile factor do?

It scales the rectangular haunch dimensions you entered. A factor of 0.5 approximates a triangular haunch, while 1.0 represents the full entered rectangle. Use the value appropriate to the project detail.

Does this calculator design the curb support detail?

No. It estimates quantities from the dimensions and assumptions you provide. Bedding, haunching, reinforcement and other construction requirements should come from the applicable project detail, supplier information or professional design.
